Me&Yu is an independent fashion label which offers original and one-off designs, specialising in hand-made
and hand-printed mens and womens streetwear. Combining fashion and graphics with a quirky sense of humour, Me&Yu creates two seasons per year around a different theme but each with their signature hand-drawn
designs and bold use of colour. The main focus of the range is printed tees, sweatshirts and hoodies
with additional hand-made pieces. The new season will see them expand into more constructed fashion
led streetwear pieces, with a definite aim to move their menswear away from just ‘t-shirts and hoodies’, whilst still retaining the unique Me&Yu look.
Me&Yu is all about creating clothes you'll love to wear that have a feel-good factor about them. All prints are silk screened by hand which gives a unique artistic finish and makes every garment unique.
Over the past few years Me&Yu has attracted a cult following with celebrities such as Agyness Deyn, Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh) who wore a Me&Yu t-shirt on Tonight with Jonathan Ross, New Young Pony Club, Joseph Gilgun (This is England), Hadouken and Robots in Disguise all seen wearing Me&Yu clothes.

We met in a completely random way in August 2000, a series of chances led us to the same Blackpool nightclub where we stumbled into each other on the dancefloor. We had both studied at Blackpool college during 1993/4 but never met. Angie was back in Blackpool after gaining a BA (Hons) in Fashion at Kingston University, whilst I was living in Manchester working as a freelance photographer and postman (thats 2 seperate jobs!!).
Not long after this meeting I re-located to Blackpool and began work as a graphic designer whilst Angie was working as a photographic artist and designer.
After a few years of full time work we kind of got restless and decided to go out to Australia for 12 months to visit Angies sister in Sydney. To earn extra cash Angie decided to try making and selling clothes on Bondi and Glebe markets. I was acting as chauffer and decided that I would try my hand at creating a range of hand-painted t-shirts. Our little stall on Bondi market was the beginning of Me&Yu - working well together to create lovely clothes we realised we had hit on something....
On our return to the UK in 2005 a new venture started in Triangle, Manchester called the Independents' Boutique this created a platform to sell designs to the UK market so we decided to continue with what we'd started in Sydney.
After a couple of years of juggling full-time jobs and a growing business we opened a store in Manchester's iconic Afflecks Palace and in May 2006 and we went into the business full-time.
In late 2007 we expanded our production facilities to an old cotton mill in central Manchester as well as gaining stockists throughout the UK and Europe.
and it's still just us!!!
